Abstract363)      PDF (810KB)(811)

Objective To investigate the distribution of disease vectors in Shijiazhuang, China and to provide a basis for their control and prevention of infectious diseases. Methods An investigation was carried out on disease vectors in Shijiazhuang, China. The vectors were collected by local residents. Results A total of 141 species of vectors, including rats, mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches, ticks, fleas, lice, and bedbugs were collected. Conclusion The basic background information on disease vectors in Shijiazhuang has been acquired, and the catalogue of main vectors in Shijiazhuang has been created.

Abstract370)      PDF (837KB)(847)

Objective To investigate the breeding situation of mosquito larvae in the urban area of Shijiazhuang, China and to provide scientific evidence for mosquito control. Methods Direct observation was used to investigate the breeding of mosquitoes in small collected waters and container waters, and visual observation combined with scoop sampling were used to investigate the breeding of mosquitoes in large and medium-sized water bodies. Water containing mosquito larvae or mosquito larvae in water were collected and taken back to the laboratory to be classified. Results The mean positive rate was 10.94% in the large and medium-sized water bodies, such as square fountains, park landscape waters (artificial lake), and Minxin River, while 221 positive sites were found in 1120 small collected waters and container waters, with a mean positive rate of 19.73% (6.35%-38.46%). The dominant species were Aedes albopictus and Culex pipiens pallens, accounting for 42.74% and 35.55%, respectively. Conclusion Mosquito control strategy should be varied with the different chacateristics of various breeding places.

Abstract1911)      PDF (332KB)(1079)

【Abstract】 Objective To learn the species and the distribution of mosquitoes and flies at Xibaipo scenic spot, and provide scientific basis for the control of vector?borne disease. Methods Mosquitoes and flies were surveyed with light?trap method and cage?trap method respectively. Results The investigation showed that there were 19 species and 5 genus mosquitoes in the district, of which, Culex pipiens pallens was the dominant specie, accounting for 61.31%, following with Armigeres subalbatus (22.02%) and Mansonia ochracea Theobald (6.36%). The seasonal fluctuation curve of mosquito density appeared single peak, and the peak was in late July. There were 3 species and 3 genus flies in the district. The seasonal fluctuation curve of fly was also single peak and the peak was in July. Conclusion There were many mosquitoes at Xibaipo scenic spot, which could increase the risk of mosquito?borne disease. So, it should carry out killing centrally and monitoring periodically to control mosquitoes effectively.
